Enguri HPP Generator Modernization
Project Description
Like all programmable devices, the TUG device is not a standard product — it was specially developed to control the temperature regimes of the Enguri HPP hydro units. The device has an optimal operating period, and during this time, failures in its power supply and control schemes have repeatedly caused emergency shutdowns of the hydro units.
Accordingly, the system was modernized. The existing components were dismantled and replaced with a new system based on the SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-1500 controller, which is compatible with the existing monitoring and control infrastructure.
The work performed included:

Dismantling of existing devices and installation of the new system

Creation of the local operator panel program
